The 2022-2027 St Albans BID business plan was developed to ensure that it:

  • is balanced to cover all business sectors
  • builds on the success to date
  • clearly defines the role of the BID
  • seeks to create and take advantage of new opportunities
  • has focused activity but remains relevant for next five years
  • has deliverable and achievable objectives.

The plan takes into account of the changes which have occurred over the first term of the BID and clearly lays out a business-led programme of investment to tackle issues identified by businesses with the aim of creating a positive and more profitable trading environment to potentially benefit all business sectors.

Strategic Objectives & Activities

  • Delivery of Destination management strategy
  • International, National and Regional marketing of the city across a wide range of media including print, digital, TV & Radio to attract a diverse demographic
  • Growth in footfall and dwell time with monitored statistics
  • Sponsorship & delivery of key Events and Festivals
  • Delivery of Christmas Lights and Festive programme of events
  • Floral Displays, planting and maintenance, Street Decorations such as bunting and flags
  • Uniform Street Furniture with additional seating
  • Welcome Signage
  • Gum and Graffiti Removal
  • Provide St Albans Business Against Crime Partnership including the security radio scheme Representing businesses in meetings with police and local council
  • Over £2million of investment in our city with a dedicated delivery team
  • Introducing economies of scale contract for relevant services
  • Working in partnership with all relevant stakeholders of the city
