Introducing the new Business Crime Partnership: St Albans BCP
Working closely in partnership with Hertfordshire Constabulary, St Albans Community Safety Partnership and CCTV ensures our City is a safe place to live, work, shop and enjoy your leisure time.
St Albans BID Members will benefit from free membership to the Partnership scheme linking to Police, CCTV and St Albans BID (new, high-spec in-store radios will be available to members at a fee).
The BCP will launch on 1st April and expect to see growth to a range of businesses spread across the day and night time economies. The scheme will be open to businesses outside of the BID area, extending to the wider District (subject to radio and CCTV coverage), with membership fees linked to rateable value. To find out more please email us.

Apps to help you waste less
We’ll be updating you on our Waste Management review with Hubbub, next month. In the meantime we’re keen to share a couple of quick and easy ways to help you waste less.
- Refill is an initiative supported by local businesses, allowing the public to fill up their water bottles for free. This can be accessed through their app. Sign up today to see businesses near you offering this.
- Too Good to go uses an app to locate restaurants near you, that have fresh food that will go to waste, if not used that day. It offers you the chance to ‘rescue’ a great meal at a fraction of the normal price and save it from being thrown away, #winwin!
Other news…

On Sunday 22nd April scouts celebrate St Georges Day. There will be road closures and general traffic disruption along St Peters St, High St, George St and Romeland, between approx. 1.30pm to 3.15pm. Around 1000 scouts will join the parade along these streets, so expect the City Centre to be busy!

On 25th May, under new EU legislation, all businesses must be GDPR compliant. Free advice from the Information Commissioners Office can be found here.
