The St Albans Gift Card is a Mastercard-based gift card managed and delivered by St Albans BID.

The objective of the Gift Card is to keep spending local for longer, empowering gift card recipients to treat themselves to the best retail, hospitality and experiences on offer in our area.

All sectors of business within the BID area are eligible to join the FREE gift card scheme.

Where to purchase

The St Albans Gift Card can be purchased online via our dedicated website www.stalbansgiftcard.co.uk.

The Gift Card makes a great employee reward or client gift too. Employers can also take advantage of the UK trivial benefits scheme by purchasing Gift Cards. The scheme enables organisations to give staff a tax-free non cash reward of up to £50.

When you join the Gift Card scheme your business will be added to the list of Where to spend. Businesses which are part of the scheme also benefit from the BID’s Gift Card promotional activity throughout the year.

How the card works

The card works in the same way as department store/shopping centre gift cards but for St Albans.

There are no additional costs to accept the Gift Card, it is charged at the same rate as a normal Mastercard/Debit card transaction.

As payment is a Mastercard transaction, you will receive the funds from your acquirer for the transaction as per you Merchant Acquirer Agreement.

You do not need to install any software of hardware to accept to Gift Card. A member of the BID will visit your business to set you up.
