St Albans BID team regularly meet with levy-paying businesses in the BID area to discuss the Business Plan and develop our projects, as well as annual surveys and evaluations of our annual projects to understand how they are delivering for our businesses against the Business Plan.

Year 1 Projects

Year 1 projects included:

  • Enhanced entertainment at the Alban Street Festival
  • St Albans Motor Show
  • George Street Gin & Jazz as part of the St Albans Food & Drink Festival 2017
  • Enhanced entertainment and engagement at the Christmas Lights Switch On
  • St Albans Christmas: an extensive marketing campaign, #StAlbansNutcrackerTrail and enhanced Christmas Lights on St Peter’s Street
  • Promotion of St Albans to our customers including residents, tourists and workers
  • Communicating with businesses including footfall data collection and distribution, newsletters and mailings

Year 2 Projects

Year 2 Projects included:

  • Research and auditing of commercial waste in St Albans City Centre
  • Research and auditing of pedestrian wayfinding in St Albans City Centre
  • Diverse and popular events programme including TimeTurn, George Street Gin & Jazz, Taste the High Life, Style St Albans, Spooktacular, Christmas activations and more.
  • Finalist in The Great British High Street
  • George Street Gin & Jazz: Finalist in Place Marketing Awards at British BIDs
  • Continued to development and rollout of St Albans BCP
  • St Albans Gift Card: launch and rollout
  • New destination management website Enjoystalbans. Consultation, design and launch.

Year 3 Projects

Year 3 Projects include:

  • Roll out of the Commercial Waste Contract with KP Waste to our levy payers
  • Continuing our diverse and popular events programme including St Albans Does Lunch, #SustFest, TimeTurn, George Street Gin & Jazz
  • St Albans Christmas: an extensive marketing campaign, Santa’s Post Office and enhanced Christmas Lights in St Albans
  • TimeTurn: Finalist in Place Marketing Awards at Association of Town & City Management
  • Mid-Term Survey to our levy payers (September 2019)
  • Continuing work to rollout St Albans Business Crime Partnership
  • St Albans Gift Card: rollout and publicity
  • EnjoyStAlbans: publicity and maintenance of Destination Management Site for St Albans BID
