Easter Trail – Call out for BID businesses

15 Feb 2024

Teaming up with High Street Safari, the BID presents a free, fun, family trail – Hunt Of The Easterlopers for this Easter.

Last year we had over 2000 participants take part in our 4 trails which encouraged young people and their families to explore the city centre.

If your business would like to be involved in the Easter trail, please read all the details below and email admin@stalbansbid.com expressing your interest.

Please note spaces are limited and will be selected based on location, we’d like to try to spread the trail across the BID area.

Dates: 25th March – 7th April 2024

How it works: Hunt for the Easterlopers, is a story-trail about a group of superheroes tracking down the missing easter bunny. This colourful augmented reality (AR) trail will consist of 10 story-point locations (hosted by businesses) across the BID area. The story points are activated by scanning contactless QR codes displayed on window decals, these bring up AR magical eggs for them to open and reveal a super-dinosaur. At the end of the story, players can download a free puzzle pack as a prize and take a winning prize-badge selfie.

Requirements of trail locations:

  • Each venue will need to display a decal. These are low-tack window stickers and will be installed on the interior of windows. They will be easy to remove without leaving any residue.
  • Decals must be installed somewhere accessible to the public – no more than 1m high from the ground (head height for young children to scan).
  • The decals must be accessible during business hours, 7 days a week (not behind shutters on weekends).
  • Must be a BID member business.

What you will get out of being a trail location:

  • Increased footfall at your location
  • Photos taken and shared of your location
  • Potential new customers
  • Free Easter themed window decorations
