Thousands flocked to George Street, St Albans on Friday for an evening of music, cocktails and boutique shopping for the second year of George Street Gin & Jazz, part of the St Albans Food & Drink Festival. In just three hours, over 5,000 visitors descended on George Street to explore, shop, eat and drink!

Visitors enjoyed an intimate setting while listening to live jazz performed by St Albans Jazz Ensemble featuring lead vocals from Lydia Haynes. A range of specialist gins were on offer from eight different bars, alongside Beer & Pretzels, Gin Slushies and more! Street food including Beef Bourginion from Loft and Hog Roast from Canteen made sure guests didn’t get peckish either.

George Street’s bars, boutiques and restaurants all contributed to the event, allowing guests to explore their shops and stores with a drink in hand and a swing in their step! The Bride’s window displayed featured living models showcasing their gowns. A surprise highlight of the evening was 14 year old *** who wowed the crowds with his singing routine in the window of Ceremonia! Copious amounts of glitter was provided to the crowds by local favourite Glitterbox with environmentally sound street décor by event artists Hattie & Flora.

Once again, the ripple effect of the event was extensive and felt in many pubs and bars beyond George Street with several venues reporting that they had sold out of gin by Saturday morning!
