Waste… it’s not so rubbish!

Launch of new waste partnership will save businesses money and improve recycling.

St Albans BID has joined forces with KP Waste, a local waste company, in a new partnership that aims to improve recycling rates and boost the local economy, saving businesses in St Albans money on their commercial waste costs.

The BID aims to introduce significant improvements for the benefit of its levy payers. As well as delivering cost savings, this partnership should improve the reliability and frequency of collections in the area, increase recycling rates and improve the local street scene.

If you are interested in finding out more and getting a quote for your waste management, please get in touch with vanessa.sharp@stalbansbid.com.

It’s the Alban Weekend! Saturday 22nd June – Sunday 23rd June

On Saturday 22nd June, 11am at St Peters Church the Pilgrimage procession will start and make its way down St Peters Street towards the Cathedral.

12ft tall carnival puppets, representing figures from the story of St Alban, take to the streets to reenact the historic events which lead to St Alban’s execution at the hands of the Romans. The puppets are accompanied by people of all ages dressed as lions, Roman soldiers, angels, chariots and more, resulting in a stunning spectacle of colour and celebration.

On Sunday 23rd June from 12 noon – 6pm come and enjoy the Alban Street Festival – the whole of St Peters Street will be pedestrianised for the event allowing everyone to take over the street for the afternoon!

The festival celebrates all that is fun and fabulous about our city on the feast day of St Alban. The event promises to be a great day out for all the family! Street food and drink, theatre performance, live music and more, and most of it’s free! Click here for more details.

Please be aware that over this weekend there will be road closures so traffic and parking will be disrupted.

Alban Fest! Friday 21st June- Sunday 30th June
