Businesses told us what matters. We listened

The 2027-2032 Business Plan has been shaped by ongoing engagement with levy payers and a business survey carried out in May 2026.

The survey at a glance

187

responses more than one in three levy-paying businesses.

57.6%

of responses came from independent businesses and 42.4% from multinational businesses

89.3%

said they were aware of the BID and its activities.

85%

backed visitor guides, visitor communications, events and activations.

82%

supported seasonal lighting and floral displays.

83%

supported BID newsletters and social communications.

78%

said environmental and sustainability initiatives were Important or Very Important.

65%

said they support a third BID term, with 24% undecided ahead of the ballot.

What businesses want next

Alongside the initiatives businesses already value, the consultation identified future priorities around environmental and sustainability initiatives, cost reduction programmes, and City Centre analytics and data provision.

The 2027-2032 Business Plan is not based on assumptions. It has been developed with businesses and shaped by what levy payers told us is working, what matters most and where the BID should focus next.
