Taste the High Life at Christopher Place!

8 May 2018

On Friday 18 May you can Taste the High Life in St Albans’ Christopher Place with an evening of cocktails, shopping, summer fashions and live music from the Swanvesta Social Club.

From the team that brought you George Street Gin and Jazz the evening will be a chance to see Christopher Place as you’ve never seen it before! Decorated with palm trees and dreams of a Cuban getaway, the shops will be showcasing their summer collections with opportunities to talk to experienced staff. Tomoka Spirits will be hosting three separate cocktail bars featuring flavours from around the world to enjoy alongside samples from the restaurants in the shopping centre. Douglas Ankrah, inventor of the Pornstar Martini, will be bringing his ready packaged bottle of the good stuff, delivering a demonstration and offering free samples too!

The highlight of the evening will certainly be the stage on the green featuring legendary local band Swanvesta Social Club from 7.30-9.30. After the evening closes at 10pm, guests are encouraged to continue the party at the many bars, clubs and pubs in the city centre!

The evening is being funded and delivered by St Albans BID in partnership with Christopher Place and the retailers to support the city centre and encourage residents and visitors to make the most of all the city has to offer. The last event of this type on George Street welcomes over 5,000 guests in just two hours!

Helen Burridge of St Albans BID said, “Christopher Place has a high quality retail and restaurant offer. From the luxury travel agent to the boutique hair and beauty stores, nestled alongside delicious eateries, entering the centre is like taking your first step on a luxurious holiday. Why don’t you start your summer as you mean to go on at this fabulously glamorous event?”
