
Before joining the Bid, Denise worked freelance for over 10 years. More recently, she was Sales & Business Development Manager for Radio Verulam & part of the day to day management team, Operations Manager for 3Ms Music & Duty Manager for Trestle Arts Base & General Manager of Horseshoe Business Park along with a variety of other business development & consultancy roles.
Prior to that, Denise worked for many years in the insurance industry specialising in general & business insurance before taking a break for family in 2000. Denise has worked closely with a variety of local stakeholders over the years and brings a wealth of local & business knowledge to the team as well as extensive events, HR & marketing experience.
On joining the Bid, Denise said, “I am delighted to be working in the heart of our city and supporting our hard-working businesses. It’s no secret that I am extremely passionate about our town, having lived here all my life and I am looking forward to helping shape our City Centre and wider District as Bid Manager’ It feels like this job was tailor-made for me! ‘
Denise is well known locally for her live music events, hosting stages across the district and charity work including presenting a show on Radio Verulam ‘ The Parsons Knows Local Music’
Denise is also Chairman of North Herts Radio, Trustee of local HIV charity, The Crescent and Director of St Albans Action For Homeless.
The Bid is delighted to be working with local businesswoman Alison Berneye who joins the Bid team on a freelance basis to project manage our Destination Management plan & is the existing chair of the St Albans Visitor Partnership steering group.
Alison has also been appointed as independent Chair of The Bid board.
Meet our boys! Shane, Herbert & Miles – Our Bid Rangers help marshall our city centre, water our plants, do all the heavy lifting with our pop up markets and generally help out. These guys are a fabulous addition to the team and really have made a difference to make people feel safe in our town.
